Caribbean Nightlife

Many Caribbean destinations offer distinctive party scenes that ensure activities continue long after sundown. If you are looking for something to spice up your nights as well as your days, these islands may do the trick for you.

Aruba: Aruba's waterfront attractions beckon you with great sunset views, ample nightly entertainment in one of the many casinos, local bands and bars, by hopping on a local party bus or by a simple stroll along a deserted starlit beach.

British Virgin Islands: Jost Van Dyke is the most happening place to go bar hopping in the British Virgin Islands. All the spots are centered around three general locations: Great Harbour, White Bay and Little Harbour.

Curacao: Willemstad's Handelskade is the place to be at night. Friday and surprisingly, Sunday night are big night outs in Curacao. Revelry into the wee hours is an island tradition. Carnival last longer in Curacao than on many of the other islands. It begins on New Year's Day and lasts until the day before Ash Wednesday.

Jamaica: Throughout the island, most major resort hotels feature lively dance clubs and bars. In Montego Bay, the Hip Strip on Gloucester Avenue offers some of the island’s top bars and clubs for easy bar hopping and is the perfect setting for a tranquil sunset cruise and dinner. Negril, offers an event every evening, usually a beach party with live music.

Puerto Rico: In San Juan, both visitors and locals alike mingle in the lobby bars of large hotels, many of which feature live music in the evening. Many hotels and casinos also have clubs with shows and/or dancing. In Old San Juan, late January plays host to "Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastian", one of the Caribbean’s best street parties.

St. Kitts: Much of the nightlife in St. Kitts revolves around the hotels and resorts which host "folkloric" shows and calypso steel bands. Frigate Bay "strip" of beach bars is the place to party hearty on weekend nights.

Trinidad: Trinidad's Carnival is reputedly the oldest in the Western Hemisphere. It is billed as "The Greatest Show on Earth" and begins right after Christmas with parties, called fêtes that don't stop until Ash Wednesday. Nightlife in Trinidad features an ample selection of live music with incredible steel bands.
