Mont-Tremblant is located approximately 130 kilometers, or 81 miles northwest of Montreal, Canada. The city itself is fairly new (year 2000) but the area is most famous for being a world class ski resort such as the Mont-Tremblant, which is 5 kilometers from the village proper. Mont-Tremblant is also home to Circuit Mont-Tremblant, which once hosted Formula One, Can-Am, Trans-Am and Champ Car World Series competitions.

The surrounding area also features hiking, cycling, canoeing, golfing, and a host of other outdoor activities, such as amateur football, junior hockey, a Zipline, and Ariel games at the Tremblant Adventure Course. The largest draw to the area is the Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort. The resort maintains a high occupancy, but there are plenty of rooms available in the area at other hotels.

There are plenty of activities to keep you busy both in the winter and the summer seasons. In the winter, Tremblant is not just about great skiing, it is also about ice skating, which is located by the St. Bernard Chapel and offers events at certain times of the year; tubing, which is a real family fun event; and cross-country skiing, across a varied terrain through forests and open meadows to the top of the mountain to enjoy the beautiful vistas beyond. These vistas and others can be viewed by taking a guided mountain tour, a sleigh ride with the family through the woods, or above it all with a helicopter tour.

A snowshoe and fondue tour is an all day event that allows you a full day to play in the snow, then provides you with a wonderful dining experience before you ski back down the mountain. Dog sledding, with the whole family through the forest and mountain trails is sure to please the entire family. Take a guided dune buggy tour to places only your guide can get you through to enjoy the backcountry. Try your hand at ice climbing for a wonderful new experience; even the novices do well with this experience.

The paintball center has 15 playgrounds and a variety of matches to keep you entertained and even take out some frustrations on some "friends and family members" who may have tagged along!

For the true outdoorsman, enjoy a real Canadian staple by ice fishing, or better yet, spend a day with an experienced trapper as they show you how the early Canadians learned to live off the land. If that is not enough, take a wilderness survival course and learn how to get around without the benefit of a GPS.

If you need to get inside for a while, there's hours of entertainment to be had at the casino, the fitness center, the spa, and the cinema. The casino features more than 500 slot machines and a whole assortment of gaming tables. The fitness center is first rate and the spa offers a wonderful array of services designed to please. The cinema is open daily to take care of family movie nights.

Summer comes alive at Mont-Tremblant with activities for all age groups and interest levels. The list of activities to enjoy seems to be endless and you cannot possibly do all of them in one trip. For "high" adventure, start with a guided tour as you board the plane with a real "bush pilot" as he provides you with a panoramic view of the countryside below. Back on the ground (almost), take a ride on the ziplines, strung 25 to 60 feet off the ground and allow the kids to play on the Aeropark, designed with the kid in mind.

Captains Harbor offers miniature replicas of boats that once cruised the mighty Mississippi River. The Climbing Tower, the Eurobungy, and the Apprentice Falconer are all activities designed with the child in mind. The Luge and mini golf are designed for those aged "not quite the teenager" but they offer activities designed for the tweenager.

The whole family can enjoy the Birds of Prey experience. Renting a boat, a pontoon, a sailboat, or taking a cruise on the lake on "The Grand Manitou" to explore the lake is a fun event for the whole family to enjoy. Camp out in the "nearly wilds" of the woods, take a family bike tour, spend a day on the beach, take a hike through the woods, climb on the inflatable "iceberg", or rent a non-motorized boat and play in the water, all activities at your disposal.

If you want to step up the adrenaline a bit, you might want to exercise the winter muscles by taking canoe or kayaking trip, taking a horseback ride, or by taking a mountain bike excursion.  Still need to step it up some more?  How about a little rock climbing, white water rafting trip, or spend some time at the Supernautique Watersport Day Camp to get a little more excitement going.  Last, but not least, There are ample opportunities to enjoy water skiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, and water tubing.

By the way, for adults who like alternative choices and activates that are just a little more calming, there is tennis, golf, the beach, the spa, the cinema, fishing, and the casino to enjoy.

Events abound at Mont Tremblant beginning with opening day of ski season and running the full calendar of the year. Highlighting the calendar: Tremblant's 24 hours of skiing, running and walking, and an annual fundraiser for sick and special needs children. Super Demo Day is the day when the biggest names in the ski and snowboard industries let you try out their new snow toys and gear. Come experience the Christmas Holiday Season and Santa's annual  visit - enough said! Then ring in the new year with all the festivities music, dancing, and fireworks.

After that, the calendar stays full with the upcoming Alpine Touring Festival, the NorAm Snowboardcross,  the FIS and Quebec Cup Snowboardcross, Washington Week, Quebec Week, Ontario Spring Break, Spring Ski Season Launch, Burton El Nino, Easter celebrations, and the Caribou Cup.
