Denmark excels in many different areas including design, architecture, farming, green technology and pharmaceuticals. At the center of it all is Copenhagen, where it likes to think of itself as the bridge between Scandinavia and continental Europe and fashions itself as the "fashion capitol of Europe".

There is much to do in the city of Copenhagen and it offers attractions and sights to suite almost every taste and interest, most of which are within walking distance. The three most famous attractions for the city are the more than 100-year old amusement park Tivoli Gardens, the statue of The Little Mermaid, and the freetown of Christiana. With a history that dates back to 1043 the city is full of historic landmarks, significant buildings and interesting sights and museums, bring millions of visitors to Copenhagen each year. Amalienborg Palace, which is home to the royal family and a 'must see' stop. Others come to enjoy the Danish countryside with its many thousands of kilometers of coastline, shopping at Stroget or enjoying the Nordic Cuisine which today dominates the food world. But regardless of why many tourists visit Denmark, studies show that the friendly Danish population is always one of the greatest attractions.
