Hawaii Beaches

Hawaii has world class beaches on every island and have every type of beach imaginable: white, black, green and red sand beaches; romantic bays for couples, beach parks for the family; popular shorelines for people watching and off-the-beaten-path sands untouched by development. Many of these beaches have been voted "America's Best Beaches" in the past.

Oahu Beaches: Waikiki Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the world and featured in the iconic photographs of Hawaii. It is also a popular beach for both the novice and professional surfer. Kailua Beach is a great beach for family outings and water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling. Waimea Bay on the North Shore is where the professionals go for big wave surfing, especially in the winter months. Lanikai is one of Hawaii's postcard-perfect beaches.

Hawaii Island Beaches: Kahaluu Beach Park is a popular tourist spot for the beginner snorkeler and a great spot to get a lesson in snorkeling. Punaluu Beach Park, Kau Beach is famous for its black sand beaches. Spencer Beach Park on the Kohala Coast is one of the most popular family beaches on the Big Island and offers excellent facilities, shady areas and a large sandy beach, ideal for family outings. Hapuna Beach regularly wins "kudos" in the world's top travel magazines as the most beautiful beach in Hawaii.

Maui Beaches: Kaanapali Beach, Kaanapali is Maui's "signature" beach and has been named "America's Best Beach" in the past. Makena Beach State Park is one of the largest beaches in Maui. Wailea Beach has also been named "America's Best Beach" in the past. Kapalua Beach, is protected from strong winds and currents by two outstretched lava-rock formations.

Kauai Beaches: Poipu Beach is popular with visitors and locals alike. Hanalei Beach Park, Hanalei, is a picturesque beach and the perfect spot to share a romantic sunset. Lydgate Beach Park, Wailua is a family friendly beach and is one of the best spots in Kauai for first time snorkelers. Haena Beach has starred as paradise in many movies.

Molokai Beaches: Papahaku Beach is one of Hawaii’s largest white sand beaches. Alii Beach Park was once the favorite for Hawaiian royalty. Papohaku Beach is one of Hawaii's longest beaches.

Lanai Beaches: Hulopoe Beach Park, Hulopoe Bay fronts the Four Seasons Resort Lanai at Manele Bay. It too was once named America’s Best Beach. Polihua Beach is best reached with a 4-wheel drive to find two miles of pristine white sand on one of Lanai’s most secluded beaches. Kaiolohia or ”Shipwreck Beach" features a World War II era ship that can still be seen off the coast.
