Carnival Freedom Cruise Ship Carnival Freedom Cruise Ship By Rapidfire (Own work)

Known as "The Fun Ships," Carnival Cruise Lines operates more than twenty cruise ships primarily throughout the United States. Carnival is known for onboard fun for the budget conscious cruisers.

Carnival Cruise Deals

Carnival Cruises often offer great deals like 7 night Eastern Caribbean cruises from only $199 and last minute specials for even less. Considering the all-inclusive pricing of cruising, Carnival's cruise vacations are some of the best values possible in travel. This makes Carnival Cruises one of the best choices for first time cruisers who aren't sure if they will like a cruise vacation.

Onboard A Carnival Cruise

Onboard the ship you'll have standard cruise amenities such as world-class entertainment, gambling, spa, 24/7 dining options, age appropriate activities for kids and families and more. Carnival's guests tend to be younger than some cruise lines with about 70% under the age of 55. This makes Carnival a great choice for cruisers looking for a more active cruise experience. Think of a Carnival cruise like Las Vegas on the water.

Carnival operates some of the largest cruise ships in the world. The smaller ships in the Fantasy class typically carry about 2,000 people while the largest ships in the Dream class typically carry about 3,500 people. Larger ships have more amenities, including water parks, wellness facilities, 4D cinema and deluxe staterooms with two bathrooms and as many as five berths.

Carnival strikes a balance between the formality of some of the more luxury cruise lines and the casual nature of cruise lines like Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Carnival Cruise Entertainment

Carnival's onboard entertainment includes featured acts like The Punchliner Comedy Club Presented By George Lopez and various onboard concerts from famous performers like Chicago, Daughtry, Foreigner, Jennifer Hudson, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Trace Adkins and more.

Enjoy a round of mini-golf, a game of ping-pong, or a daily jog around a ship-top jogging track with awesome views of the surroundings. Some ships include a ropes course, basketball, soccer and volleyball. If water is more your thing you might find a water park complete with water slides and the PowerDrencher, a big bucket of water that rains down on you from above.

There are multiple movie theaters including the dive-in movies where you can watch big-name movies from various categories, and a 4D theater that not only has 3D visuals, but special seats that truly transport you into the action.

For the kids, Carnival offers themed entertainment options such as Seuss At Sea; Hasbro, The Game Show; Camp Carnival and more. With so many things to do, it's very likely the kids will have as good a time (or better) as the adults.

Carnival Cruise Dining

While Carnival includes the traditional formal dining options cruises are known for, there are a lot of more casual dining options. Of course you can get all the steak and lobster you could want, but also enjoy special burgers from Guy's Burger Joint, gourmet pizza from Pizzeria Del Capitano, or some of the best Asian inspired dishes from Mongolian Wok. 24 Hour room service is also complimentary. A Carnival cruise (or any cruise really) is not a time to be on a diet.

On Carnival, some of the specialty dining options require reservations and additional fees. These fees can often be offset by onboard credits offered as part of some cruise deals. To use your onboard credits, make sure you pay while onboard. The onboard credit cannot be used for anything booked and paid for prior to your cruise.
