Oahu Outdoor Adventures

The iconic picture of Hawaii is surfers riding crashing waves and it occurs on the beaches of the North Shore of Oahu. Oahu's 112 miles of shoreline offers ample opportunity for boating, diving, snorkeling fishing, kayaking, parasailing and whale watching.

With near perfect weather year round, Oahu is a natural place to visit for the outdoor nature lover. Its rugged topography created by volcanoes many years ago make it a hikers and walkers paradise. Hiking experiences ranges from the most vigorous to that of a slow nature walk on one of Oahu's 35 trails.

When one hikes to the top of many of the trails, he is rewarded with incredible panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, not to mention the island itself. Poplar hiking locations include Koko Head Crater Trail Hike and Diamond Head Crater Hike are more for the experienced hiker whereas, the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail offers a more moderate hiking experience.

For the walker, the Lyon Arboretum, part of the University of Hawaii has beautifully landscaped grounds to walk through and the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is an ideal place for amateur and experienced walkers who may want to combine with snorkeling.

Oahu has some of the finest beaches in the world, Waikiki Beach is undoubtedly the most famous, but Kaimana Beach, is beautiful and uncrowded. Ala Moana Beach Park is a great place for families to enjoy, Spitting Cave of Portlock , is private and offers great views and Magic Island is a great place for serenity. Manoa Falls, offers majestic views but is sometimes overcrowded. If you are truly fearless, try skydiving for a unique view of the north Shore.

Hawaii Island Outdoor Adventures

A Helicopter trip is the best way to experience the Hawaii Island. Take a trip to the Kilauea Volcano or Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, for an un-believable view of the islands active Volcanoes, hidden waterfalls and rugged beaches.

You can engage in every imaginable outdoor activity here; snorkel or scuba off the Kona Coast, horseback ride; in cowboy country, Waimea, Discover AkakaFalls and Rainbow Falls in Wailulu River State Park or hike along the 150 miles of volcanic desert and tropical trails at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Maui Outdoor Adventures

On Maui, snorkelers will be rewarded with unforgettable sights in the luminous waters of Molokini. Whale watching from Kaanapali Beach is a thrill as is experiencing your first surf lesson off the shores of Lahaina Beach. Horseback riding atop Haleakala is a real favorite as is a helicopter ride to see the breathtaking views of Maui’s pristine valleys and waterfalls.

Kauai Outdoor Adventures

From boating along the sea cliffs of the Napali Coast; to kayaking down the Wailua River toward the Coconut Coast you will find much to talk about. The golfing is excellent due to the unique landscape of the island. Outdoor adventure is unique on this island. Mountain tubing is a real favorite activity due to the miles of water flumes available. Ziplining above Kauai’s lush rainforests is a real treat. Off-roading on Kauai’s South Shore, Horseback riding in the pastures of Princeville, or hiking the trails of Kokee's State Park and Waimea Canyon offers full day adventures for all.

Molokai Outdoor Adventures

Kalaupapa National Historic Park is a great spot for a 2.9 mile mule ride and offers a unique perspective of the island. Fishing is great out of Kaunakakai Harbor, home to the longest wharf in Hawaii and a short hike to the 250 Mooula Falls is a visual treat.

Lanai Outdoor Adventures

Lanai has only 30 miles of paved road but 400 miles of dirt road! This offers the outdoor adventurer an unbelievable 4-wheel drive experience by heading up the Munro trail. True adventurers can hike this rigorous 11-mile trail up Lanaihale for a commanding view of five other islands on a clear day.

Hulopoe Bay is excellent for snorkeling and sunbathing. Kaiolohia Beach is also known as Shipwreck Beach where you can see the husk of a tanker ship claimed by the reef. Hiking to Pupu (Sweetheart Rock) and clay shooting Central Lanai are popular activities.
