Bangkok, or "the city of angels" is the political, cultural culinary and spiritual capitol of Thailand. A city that is more than 200 years old and a population of more than 10 million people, can be intimating to say the least but visitors who spend some time in Bangkok, become enamored by the many attractions Bangkok contains.

Nearly every Bangkok holiday includes a visit to Thailand's Grand Palace,

the premier sightseeing attraction in the heart of Rattanakosin Island and the spectacular palaces of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaeo), the Temple of dawn (Wat Arun) and Wat Pho which an enormous reclining Buddha. there are more than 400 functioning Buddhist temples throughout the city.

The Chao Phyra, "The River of Kings" passes alongside the Temple of The Dawn and connects to numerous canals from which the city has earned the nickname the "Venice of the East". These "back alley canals afford the opportunity to visit the floating markets and get a real feel of the city. Historical and cultural "must sees" include the National Museum, Vimanmek Mansion, and Suan Pakkad Palace, all national treasures.

There are plenty of other attractions to enjoy in Bangkok. The downtown electric rail system makes it easy to move about the city with ease. The system connects to all major hotels, shopping malls, traditional markets and of course, the vibrant nightlife.
