The moment your toes touch sand and your gaze meets water, you will know you're in the Bahamas. It's finding that your departure from everyday life is also your arrival at an extraordinary place. The Bahamas Islands are the perfect place to kick back, stroll through forts, plantations and remote villages, cool off while exploring caves and standing before the "Fountain of Youth".

The Bahamas is a scuba divers paradise and offers the best scuba diving opportunities in the Caribbean. With more than 1,100 underwater sites, you can experience something for every diver's taste; from the Andros Barrier Reef and the famous Blue Holes to numerous shipwrecks and dramatic sea walls.

Marine life is abundant and the waters are clear and warm most of the year. The islands are surrounded by many flats, reefs and steep drop offs making fishing one of the best and most popular activities in the Bahamas. Bone fishing, fly-fishing, big-game tournaments, deep-sea charters attract fishermen from around the world.

The Bahamas is host to Junkanoo, a frantic Carnival like festival and street parade held the day after Christmas and again on New Year’s Day. By far the largest celebration or "rush" is in Nassau.
