Chelsea Recreational Piers is located on the Hudson River near streets in the West 20's. American Cruise Lines and other small coastal vessels use this pier.

The White Star Line's Titanic was scheduled to arrive at the Chelsea Piers on April 16, 1912 at the conclusion of her maiden voyage. Fate intervened, and the then-world's-largest liner struck an iceberg and sank on April 14. The 675 passengers rescued did arrive here on Cunard Line's Carpathia on April 20.

Today, the pier's waterfront features a 30-acre sports and entertainment complex that includes a 40-lane bowling facility, batting cages, a matching set of ice rinks open year-round and for a very different way to see the city's skyline, kayaking at Pier 40, Houston Street and the Hudson River.
