Chelsea

Once dangerous, then quietly residential, Chelsea has become very, very downtown and increasingly upscale and has changed considerably. It has become a residential area known for its population of writers and artists.

New York's hottest gallery scene inhabits the area's western edge with haute restaurants to match. The Chelsea Market attracts "foodie" types from all over the area, despite its dark, dated design. There has been a recent growth of trendy clubs that have taken up residence on and around 27th street.

Chelsea Piers Sports Complex offers a great place to practice your golf swing, try a little rock climbing or a little family bowling. Chelsea is a great place to enjoy a harbor cruise on a warm summer night on one of the historic vessels of Classic Harbor Line.

  • Aquariums

Oceans cover 71% of the Earth’s surface, and we’ve only explored about 5% of it. That leaves so much of the Earth that we know nothing about. Not everyone can dive right into the water to look at the ocean life, so why not do the next best thing? Aquariums give us a window into a whole other world. Most locations around the world have aquariums; some larger than others.

  • Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling began to take off in the 1950's as lightweight design emerged. At first, snowmobiling was a topic of dispute, because snowmobilers like to take advantage of the flexibility of their machines to travel off-road, thereby disrupting otherwise pristine environments. Others objected to snowmobilers because their machines were noisy and polluted the environment.
