Park City, Utah is one of the premier ski locations in the world. Everything about the destination is world class and it is the playground of the rich and famous of the world. It is now one of the most affluent and liveliest ski resort towns in the United States.

Park City's roots are in the silver, gold, and lead mining industry until the collapse of the economy after WWI and mine disasters almost closed the area. The development of the skiing industry not only saved the area, it has allowed it to thrive and become a place of ski prominence. Today it houses more tourists than residents and welcomes more than four million tourists each year.

Located just 35 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport, Park City offers days and nights filled with exceptional food, endless recreation, and the possibilities for enduring memories. With a combined 9,326 skiable acres, 426 runs, bowls, and parks, and 58 lifts, it should come as no surprise that Park City is a great place to ski.

It's difficult to imagine there's more in Park City than world-class skiing or snowboarding, but there is much more, especially for the family. Family vacations in Park City are filled with unique fun, food, excitement, and relaxation, and you will never run out of things to do. No matter the age of your family members, Park City will serve up the family vacation of a lifetime.

Park City's arts and culture scene is vibrant.  It is home to concerts, live theatre, Olympic sporting events, and independent film screenings. Park City is filled with museums: most notable is the ski and Olympic museums and art galleries, where you will find arresting canvases, prints, jewelry, and sculpture from local artists. Highlighting the arts and culture scene is the annual Park City Arts Festival. The Eccles Center and the Egyptian Theatre are home to Park City's dance and theatrical performances and the organization offers memorable shows throughout the summer. The nearby Deer Valley Music Festival is a popular local attraction that attracts name performers from all over the world and is a must see event while in Park City.

Shopping is available for everything from books and collectibles, to sportswear and antiques.  It is filled with quaint shops and galleries up and down Main Street. The stores have their share of name brand items as well as a great factory outlet center. The most popular shopping areas include the Resort Center at Park City Mountain Resort, Silver Lake Village at Deer Valley Resort, the Resort Village at Canyons Resort, and the open air Park City Utah shopping center.

Home to over 100 restaurants and bars, you will not go hungry and your choices for dining are almost endless. All dining establishments are accessible on historic Main Street. A fun activity is to take a food tour, which allows visitors and locals to go beyond the usual activities and experience Main Street more intimately. Park City's Food and Wine Classic and the Savor the Summit Festivals held each summer are only two of a number of culinary events scheduled throughout the year to enjoy.

There are many historic tours to enjoy that document the early mining history of the area long before the ski industry became such an important industry.
