Hawaii Island, also known as the "Big Island", is still growing due to the ever active Kilauea Volcano. It is home to Maunakea, the tallest sea mountain in the world, Maunaloa, the most massive mountain in the world, and the largest park in the state, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Hawaii Island consist of seven main regions: Hilo; with its dramatic waterfalls, fertile rainforests and blooming gardens. It is the gateway to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park; The Hamakua Coast, known for the Hamakua Heritage Corridor; North Kohala; known for lush undeveloped pastureland and small towns; Kohala Coast, where you will see rugged lava fields and fine resorts; Kona, where you will find everything from coffee farms to historic landmarks; Puna, where you will see Kalapana, a community that is partially covered by lava and Kau, you’ll discover... well its quiet there!
